Newbury - Greenham Road before the Sandleford Link

This section of road does not exist anymore. It was swallowed up by the construction of the A339 Sandleford Link. Some of the houses remain, but the Adam & Eve Public House which you can just see centre left was demolished.

In the distance you can see the first phase of the telephone exchange under construction. Construction began in 1968/9 and the new automatic exchange for Newbury opened in 1975.

The road coming from the left is probably Howard Road (confirmation required on this). Howard road is now a "No through road".
