Newbury, Berkshire UK - A Panoramic View from the South

This panoramic photograph, taken from the South, picks out several Newbury landmarks, including St Nicolas Church, the Town Hall, Donnington Castle and of course the Telephone Exchange.

The big white building between St Nicolas Tower and the Town Hall is LLoyds bank which obviously marks Bridge Street and will give you some indication of where Northbrook Street is in all of this.

The very long black roofed building to the left of the telephone exchange, is the Corn Exchange. On the extreme left, the black roofed building is the Kennet Centre multi-storey car park.

It is obvious that at the time of the Civil War Donnington Castle held a very dominant position over the Kennet Valley
